Did you know that baby seagulls are colored like this? I had no idea until I spotted a few while I walked the grounds of the Chateau d'If in France. They were scurrying after their mom and into the underbrush, out of sight. So naturally, I lurked around with my phone at the ready to snag a picture.
It is fascinating to me how much birds change from hatching to adulthood. Rivaled only by the frog, which has the most crazy transformation in the animal kingdom, in my opinion.
"Wet Behind the Ears" is a title for a cute parent-child duo, although it refers to the child who does not (in fact) have visible ears.
I hope this painting makes you think of Utah, transformation, and brings a smile to your face.
